Fire & Samaritan Station

Vaduz, Liechtenstein – Erhart & Partner Architects

The new Fire & Samaritan Station is defined by a rigorous minimalist aesthetic, presenting a clean, horizontal profile that integrates seamlessly into its industrial context. While the facility is nestled among commercial neighbours, its location is strategically optimized to ensure rapid response times and minimal transit distances for emergency services. This design demonstrates that critical infrastructure can be both visually restrained and operationally elite.

The building accommodates the fire department as the primary user alongside the Samaritan association. The centerpiece is the vehicle hall with 16 bays. Other functional areas, such as the command center, offices, crew rooms, training areas, and workshops, are peripherally attached to the vehicle hall.

Though the fire department and Samaritan sections are accessed via the same entrances, they remain spatially separate. The new building was constructed as a concrete-timber hybrid, and planning was carried out using the BIM method.
